Pantone Colour of the Year 2018 - Yes Way!

Just wanted to share a board I've put together for a bedroom using Pantone's Colour of the Year 2018 - Ultra Violet.

Ultra Violet is a deep purple which is great to create drama and comfort in a bedroom, however you have to be brave to use the colour as the main focus! Dark rooms can be very beautiful, particularly if the room is small, making it a cosy escape. If you have a room that is already lacking in terms of natural light, it can be fun to embrace that and paint the space darker still but this isn't for everyone! For my bedroom design I have chosen to use Ultra Violet in a harmonious scheme with a soft blue, similar to the Pantone Colour of the Year 2016, Serenity. Playing with different amounts of each colour and in different intensities will give different looks depending on what you prefer.

Personally I think that purples, especially ones containing more blue and in darker tones like this, look great with almost all other colours. So if you wish to just add a splash of Ultra Violet to your existing room as a cheaper option or to give it an updated accent, I've included a few ideas to do this too - vases, cushions or even a piece of artwork with a hint of Ultra Violet. (I've got my eye on this one for my own wall!)
