Client Profile - The Brooks

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great time celebrating over the holidays.

I’m starting the new year with a new Client Profile – The Brooks. This post will be in two parts as Nicole and Andrew came to me with two projects, an update to their master bedroom and a redesign of their spare bedroom into a new room for their toddler, Cecilia.

Let’s start with the toddler’s room. For this project the Product Board was the best fit as the room needed to be completely changed from a grown-up guestroom to a fun, child friendly space. The Brooks were expecting a new baby, looking after a toddler and both still working full-time, so the shopping list provided as part of the

package meant that once the design was finalised,

they would be only a few clicks away from all the items

they needed.

All Pink Couch design packages are usually undertaken remotely meaning that wherever you are, I can help you with you design project. It does mean that most of the time I never step foot in your home, so the first thing I ask the client to do is complete a questionnaire that helps me to find out exactly what it is they need and provide a set of photos and some measurements so I can get an idea of the space and their budget. Using their information, I was able to get a good idea of what the Brooks wanted – a fun, gender neutral space for their toddler that would last for several years, where she could sleep but also play and read, with space for her tipi tent! Their home is a Victorian terrace but they were wanting something a little more contemporary design-wise.

The first stage of any Product Board design is the two initial Swatch Boards, which suggest a couple of potential colour schemes for the space along with some options of a product that the client requested in their questionnaire, in this case, a coloured rug. The Brooks decided on the Crown “Stepping Stone” colour scheme which, along with some furniture requests for storage, was taken through to the final design.

Below are the before and after snaps so you can see how the Product Board helped them to realise their new design. What is great about the Pink Couch design packages is that they are tailored to you and your needs and they are all about working with you as an individual to make sure you get exactly what you require out of your room. As I mentioned, each Product Board comes with a full shopping list which includes links to websites so you can order everything you need with ease. What I loved about seeing these photos of the final room is that it is really exciting to see the design come to life and know the clients now have the space they wanted.
