New year, new decade and I thought I would start by looking at the new Pantone Colour of the Year - Classic Blue. As 2020 stretches out ahead of us, this calming and versatile colour brings us close to nature and reminds of infinite blue skies and far-reaching deep oceans - always nice during a dreary January.

Blues always seem to be around in the interiors world whether as bold statements or as an accent colour and is equally successful when used in traditional and contemporary schemes. It can be a dramatic statement on its own or can offer a great backdrop to so many other colours. Blues are an excellent alternative to what might be seen as the usual neutrals - grey, beige, white, cream - with navy blue firmly being recognised in recent years as one of the "new neutrals". With so many options from barely there pale powder blues to intense shades verging on black, blue can work in any space and allow you to create various atmospheres in various spaces.

Taking inspiration from Pantone Classic Blue, I've put together a few mini boards with some paint options to help you to bring this year's colour in to you home, along with suggestions of scheme combinations for a selection of different rooms, highlighting what I think is the vast versatility of blue.
